ABOUT POOLGALLON

About PoolGallon

PoolGallon provides pool-volume and treatment arithmetic, project-cost checklists and research-based equipment buying guides. The calculations support a measured plan; they do not replace product instructions, public-health requirements or a site assessment.

How calculations are made

Volume uses standard rectangle, circle and ellipse geometry with explicit feet/meter and US-gallon/liter conversions. Chemical additions use a positive concentration increase, a defined active ingredient and product purity or available-chlorine concentration.

Alkalinity calculations account for CaCO3-equivalent reporting. Liquid chlorine distinguishes g/L, available-chlorine weight percentage and NaOCl weight percentage with density. pH and muriatic acid tools scale a user-supplied demand-test table dose; they contain no fixed dose-per-pH-point model.

The heating tool estimates water heat-up energy with fixed approximate density and heat capacity. It excludes heat loss and cannot size equipment for maintaining temperature.

How buying and cost guidance is assembled

Equipment comparisons use the cited manufacturer pages for specific model codes and coverage claims. These comparisons rest on published specifications: no hands-on pool trials or reliability measurements were made for this site. Conflicting source specifications are described where they affect a purchase.

Cost pages separate project scopes and identify when local quotes are required. A manufacturer planning range is not a national installed-price dataset, and these sources do not support a payback figure, an affiliate earnings claim or a guaranteed construction budget.

Sources and corrections

Each sourced page includes its relevant links and the date checked. The current material was prepared on October 27, 2026. Specifications and product availability can change; confirm the current manual, seller terms and label before acting.

If a cited source changes or a statement on this site is found to be incorrect, the affected text is revised and its check date updated.
